Unveiled.

In an issue of Marie Claire magazine that came out a few months ago I read the most fascinating article on women in Dubai with a love of couture. Although many of the women can not wear their clothing in public they wear it underneath their burkas and veils. Many can be seen wearing their huge designer sun glasses and Tory Burch flats etc. because it is the only exposed part of their bodies they can accessorize.

In the privacy of their homes one or a few women host a private female only party where they can come unveiled dressed to the nines in order to showcase their style in the only way that is allowed due to their cultural beliefs. My aunt Katie Rodgers, a realtor in New York City, lived in Dubai for 6 months for work and was brought into the inner circle of some of the wealthiest most stylish women in Dubai. My aunt told me about their dedication and passion for clothes that they will never be able to wear out in public.

Posh to design new fashion inspired Hotel?

This article from UK site Entertainment Daily talks about the 25m pound offer, Victoria Beckham has received to help design a new fashion themed luxury hotel in Dubai. The former Spice Girl would be endorsing the project with her name and becoming part of the design team from the room decor to the furniture used. The hotel will be on the fashion themed island off of Dubai called Isla Moda. It is still up in the air if Posh will decide on to the demanding yet extraordinary opportunity. Not to mention the extremely generous compensation. The article also says that Karl Lagerfield has also signed on his name to the Isla Moda project and the new hotel.
